Biography

Florin Jianu is the president of Romanian national council of SMEs (CNIPMMR). He is one of the most successful Romanian entrepreneur and the biggest supporter of business environment at national and European level, focused on innovative approaches and opportunities given to young people. His current activity concerns the non-governmental sector dedicated to support the business environment and the policies and instruments development in order to support all the entrepreneurial activities.

In 2014, for 10 months he was appointed as the minister for SMEs, business environment and tourism. The main results of his activity as representative of the Romanian government concern the most innovative law for SMEs, a business strategy for 2014-2020, a program dedicated to support young graduates to become employees, Romania HUB program. The policies developed had as objective to place Romania on the European map as the entrepreneurial hub. Other instruments that he has developed as minister were the crowd funding, business angel and business incubators law and the credit mediator institution.

In the non-governmental sector, he was the President of the biggest European organization dedicated to support and represent over 350.000 young entrepreneurs – Young Entrepreneurs of the European Union (JEUNE) and the President of the Young Entrepreneurs Association from Romania (YEAR). Its activity was focused on European funds consultancy, research/ development department as President and Project manager.

Florin Jianu was born in Slatina, Olt County, at 30th of December 1976. He has graduated the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Mathematics, Department of Applied Mathematics (in English), with the paper “Estimation intervals”. Mr. Florin Jianu has attended the National School of Political and Administrative Studies Masters, graduating with “Motivation as a factor of performance in organizations” paper. Its activity in management of European projects specialization was continued at the National School of Political and Administrative Studies, Faculty of Communication and Public Relations “David Ogilvy”.
