Christos Harpantidis is Chairman and Managing Director of Papastratos, an affiliate of Philip Morris (PMI), since August 2015 and Managing Director for the EU South East countries of PMI (Romania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Croatia, Cyprus & Malta).

Upon the assumption of his duties at Papastratos, he led the team that implemented the large transformation project of the company via the new, innovative tobacco product IQOS, and the big investment for the conversion of the factory in Aspropyrgos into an exclusive production unit for heat sticks for IQOS. Both generated a huge disruption in the tobacco industry in Greece.

Before taking over Papastratos’ leadership, we worked for three years (2012-2015) at the Operations Center of PMI in Lausanne (Switzerland) were he served as Global Sales Strategy Director and Reduced-Risk Products Commercialization Director, contributing actively to the strategy planning for the launch of the new products in the global markets.

He started his career at Coca-Cola Hellenic in 1997 in various positions of the commercial department and joined Papastratos in 2003.

He is the Vice President of the Hellenic Management Association and a founding member of the Competitiveness Council of Greece.

Christos Harpantidis studied Physics at the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki and holds a MBA in Economics from the University of Kent and a M.A. in Economics from the same university.
